Hank Nuñez is OC Chapter US Lacrosse Special Events Coordinator, Chapter Representative to USL Convention, Orange County Lacrosse Association Boys Commissioner and Fields Director, Foothill High School Varsity Lacrosse Team Manager and Honorary Assistant Coach, and Executive Board Member of the Foothill High Lacrosse Boosters serving as the Community Liaison. He promotes the best interest of Orange County Lacrosse with the City of Tustin, the Tustin Unified School Board, and surrounding cities and school districts. He coordinates the field allocations and facility requests throughout Orange County for numerous boys and girls games and tournaments. He became involved with lacrosse in 1998 when as the AYSO Regional Commissioner, he was asked for assistance in obtaining field space and for help developing lacrosse for youth in Tustin and Orange County. He established a Junior and Senior Division at Hewes Middle School, then the Bantam and Lightning Divisions for the Tustin Tigers, and finally a premier High School program at Foothill High School. As Chair of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Committee, he was instrumental in getting the approval from the Tustin Unified School District for Foothill High School to become the first CIF Varsity Lacrosse Team in Orange County. His actions in this capacity were instrumental in the acceptance and explosive growth of this sport throughout the other school districts within the Orange County area of the Southern Section. He has personally assisted over 20 high schools to go CIF. Hank Nunez is a selfless man who continuously works toward the advancement of lacrosse in Orange County. He spends countless hours of his personal time scheduling games for the boys and girls of the Orange County Lacrosse Association as the Boys Commissioner and Fields Representative. He spends his Saturday’s at the fields helping to keep things on Schedule, answering questions about the game, and ensuring the enjoyment of the game. He has also organized and supervised four consecutive OC All-Star games for the boys and playoffs for the boys and girls. He also represents the Orange County Chapter at the USL National Convention and was a key speaker on how to run an effective Level 1 Coaching clinic. He is the example that we all strive to follow and does this not only for the love of the game but for the enjoyment of letting others learn to love the game.
